Judges announce five finalists in the inaugural Yahki competition
After reviewing dozens of diverse Yahki mashups published throughout April, a panel of seven judges has chosen five finalists in the running for the iPad Mini prize.
Not only was the quality of the 'Yahkis' high, the range of genres and topics was enormous. Here's the wash-up for April 2014:

Yahkis published in the month spanned topics and genres as diverse as World War 1 multimedia mashups, poetry collections, science lesson resources and simple recipes combined with eco-commentary. We saw creative stories exploring themes of family, faith, tragedy, hope and anthropocentrism. Other posts explored issues of alcoholism, the genesis of the Mac computer, and one presented the aspirations of a Celtic youth in a mythical multimedia setting.
